In this project, material decisions anchor the design in performance and design potential, making the workspace visually aligned with the overall brand.
Meenakshi Sharma
In this high-performance workplace for a South Korean e-commerce leader, the design translates the company’s culture of speed, precision, and delivery into an environment where materials quietly reinforce both brand and function. Split into two hemispheres and colour-coded to reflect these zones, the interiors of the space are designed with distinctive features of orange and blue through its use of furniture, wallpaper and most prominently the carpets.

At the reception, backlit lacquered glass amplifies the company’s vision statement, while the lightweight FRP rocket mascot reflects innovation through fabrication. The reference to the delivery box, central to the e-commerce ecosystem, informs the design of an informal collaboration space without becoming literal. Folded geometries appear in acoustic surfaces and partition systems, creating subtle cues that echo packaging logic. In the collaboration spaces, textured acoustic panels and custom sliding partitions combine visual identity to ensure flexibility without sacrificing sound control.

Acoustic clarity was a defining requirement of the space, and has therefore played an instrumental role in shaping the material palette across ceilings and walls. Wood-finished metal baffles introduce warmth while absorbing sound, and stretch-fabric ceilings soften larger volumes, integrating lighting and acoustics into a seamless plane. Curved glass partitions with translucent frosting maintain openness, yet ensure privacy in conference rooms, so that transparency and discretion can coexist through material choices.

Durability and adaptability guide flooring and surface selections. While the Concrete-textured finishes lend resilience and a grounded aesthetic, they also help in balancing the technological intensity of the workspace. LVT flooring at the training podium withstands heavy usage while subtly distinguishing the presentation zone. Custom gradient carpets do more than add colour—they establish an intuitive wayfinding through material variation rather than signage overload.
In the terrace area, exposed concrete columns contrast with wood-textured baffles and integrated greenery, creating a balanced interplay between industrial precision and natural softness. In these areas, external-grade furniture ensures longevity while encouraging flexibility.
