One Board Many Applications

Fibre cement boards

Fibre Cement Boards are emerging as a popular interior-exterior panel system owing to their characteristic and aesthetics, writes Amit Oberoi, Head-Marcom, Everest Industries

Fibre cement boards (FCB) have been making waves in the infrastructure industry with their aesthetic appeal of wood and the durability of fibre cement. They are being considered the newest alternative with their unique characteristics in comparison to wood and wood-based panels. The fibre cement boards can take on a variety of appearances (including wood) in various applications, making them a solid choice amongst architects and designers for application in a historic home or a new build.

Fibre cement boards

In combination with different substrate frameworks like timber, steel and aluminium, they provide advanced dry construction solutions in both interior and exterior applications, leveraging space utilization to the maximum, while saving time. Owing to their versatile nature, they can be used as Wall Partitions, Ceilings, Façades, Kitchen Applications, Doors and Surface decorators.

FCB cladding solutions are preferred over brick and concrete walls for enhanced aesthetics. Addressing the concern of time-lapse in wet construction, drywalls easily put projects on fast track by eliminating the drying time. Furthermore, wall lining solutions for cladding brick, block and concrete walls, give a damp-proof surface, improving the thermal insulation of the area.
