ALUCOBOND, the flagship brand of Swiss major 3 A Composites, has added a new range of more than 40 colours and surface coatings to its premier portfolio, enabling architects to give a distinct identity to their designs.

The new portfolio has been specially designed for premium commercial and residential buildings, airports, shopping malls, and institutions. The company is targeting architects, developers, and fabricators in major markets of India through its wide sales network. The new range includes the following three series:

The ALUCOBOND brand
Colourscapes: Using these metallic and solid colours and surfaces, architects can create designs to transform a project into an architectural masterpiece. The metallic colours give the effect of Copper, Bronze, Gold, and Stone, while the solid colours are in Basalt Grey, Olive Grey, Stone Grey, etc.

Concrete: This innovative series looks like concrete in aluminium composite material and is mainly used for façade cladding. Architects can design 3D shapes and geometric patterns, which otherwise would have been nearly impossible using actual concrete. The ACP is lightweight and rigid yet highly formable and is made of fully recyclable materials. It can also be used for making decorative highlighter walls in the interiors, and for cladding of balconies and columns. The range offers about seven shades in grey and brown.

The ALUCOBOND brand
Grove: Curated in wood finish, the Grove series can be used for designing any work of art, giving designers autonomy to use aluminium composite material instead of natural wood. It is not only lightweight, rigid, and formable, but also resistant to fungus, moss, and rot. Grove can be used for façade cladding, interiors, balconies, pergolas, ceilings, and column cladding. Colours are in Indian wood shades like Bengal Mahogany, Red Oak, Gir Teak, Himalayan Walnut, Dindori Sakhua and Kashmir Maple.

“Till date, more than 130 million sq. ft. of ALCOBOND ACPs have been used in the premium architectural segment. It was used in the CITI Bank, IL&FS, NSE, Bharat Diamond Bourse in the Bandra–Kurla Complex, etc in the 1900’s and early 2000’s and these buildings still have their facades intact, which is a testimony of the quality of ALUCOBOND,” informs Ranjeet Sharma, President & CEO, 3A Composites India.

In India, ALUCOBOND has been widely used in the construction of about 25 airports, premier educational institutes like the IITs, major petrol pumps, metro stations, including recent landmark projects like the Sabarmati High-Speed Rail Terminal, India International Convention & Expo Centre (IICC) in Dwarka, Delhi, (also India’s largest Convention Centre under construction), Jio Convention Centre and Jio World Drive in Mumbai, amongst others.

The ALUCOBOND brand
ALUCOBOND has always been the preferred choice of architects when it comes to installing ACP. Our three new colour series will bring a wave of trendy designs and allow architects to unleash their creativity in designing modern and stylized buildings with fire-retardant materials.

Empowering Architects

“From subtle to bold and brilliant, the new shades of colours and surfaces are completely unconventional. This carefully curated series of colours will inspire architects to bring striking effects to their designs. With the right combination of metallic, solid and vibrant colours, certain aspects of architecture can be accentuated. This gives flexibility to the architects to highlight specific elements of the key areas of design,” says Amar Kirale, Head – Marketing, India & South East Asia, 3A Composites India.

Adaptability

All these colours and surfaces have been manufactured under the quality standards established by E.C.C.A. (European Coil Coating Association) of which 3A Composites is a member. Informs Kirale, “The range of colours and surfaces we offer are of global high standard. For instance, the fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating is applied to the aluminium coil prior to lamination, using a continuous coil coating process where multiple layers are individually curated at specified temperatures, which in turn, offers excellent surface durability (factors that architects and designers weigh while selecting colours and surface materials). Our materials are extremely resistant against weathering, solar radiation, and pollution.”
