An Award-winning Boutique Design Studio
A 6,500-square-foot house in a tranquil Hyderabad neighborhood tells its story not through words, but through light, shadow, texture, and time. This latest residential project is the work of Designtales, an award-winning boutique design studio founded by Meghana Nimmagadda.

At first glance, the concept appears simple: use light to create depth and shadow. But as you move through the space, a deeper narrative emerges—one of rhythm and contrast, motion and stillness, presence and pause.

The first striking feature upon entering the drawing room is the ceiling. A flat plane is transformed into a luminous landscape by sculpted niches, designed to catch sunlight at specific angles. Like a living sundial, light flows through these cavities throughout the day, marking time with subtle grace.

As you walk down the hallway, Little Claymen sculptures appear in delicate wall niches. Like punctuation in a sentence, their gestures—some playful, others contemplative—invite you to pause, observe, and connect.

The language of arches recurs throughout the home like a poetic refrain. In the master bedroom, gentle curves behind the bed enhance intimacy. The motif subtly reappears near the vanity, and in the guest bedroom, it is reinterpreted through furniture, tilework, and wardrobe design—familiar, yet never repetitive.

Materials continue the story. In the pooja room, brass-inlaid concrete—crafted with Hey Concrete—offers a contemporary sense of sacredness. Spiritual yet understated, this design choice alone has earned the vendor several new commissions.

The dining and living areas flow seamlessly into one another, anchored by Nuance's curved concrete panels and a custom faux Corian pillar. These elements were chosen not only for their visual appeal but also for their tactile qualities—cool to the touch, sculptural in form, and soft on the eyes. The dining area becomes a space for gathering and stillness, where time seems to slow down.

Suspended above the dining table is a large, organic chandelier by Wicker Story—vivacious yet balanced, adding a sense of movement while harmonizing with the more subdued surroundings.

The kitchen, fitted with a Valcucine modular system, is a study in precision and elegance. It blends seamlessly with the open-plan design, balancing form and function.

In the kids’ room, joy resides in the details—curved corners, playful handles, and built-in toy niches invite touch and exploration. Every element encourages movement, learning, and imagination.

This home doesn’t seek to impress—it invites you in. Avoiding trends and theatrics, it speaks softly through textures, light, and subtle gestures. Each room reads like a chapter in a timeless story, with every corner designed for meaning and longevity.
