Bagmane Aquamarine is a part of one of Bengaluru’s premier IT parks, Bagmane World Technology Centre that defines the skyline of Outer Ring Road in the city. The architectural grammar of Bagmane Aquamarine draws inspiration from the pyramids and is designed as a G+9 structure with a total built-up area of approximately one million sft.(inclusive of car park) on a site area of 5.24 acres. The architectural form relates to a stepped profile defined by vertical and horizontal projections. The vertical elements also act as fins for the façade glazing and the horizontal planes add design stability while functioning as shading devices. Further, the north-south longitudinal orientation of the building ensures minimal openings toward the west.

VBT’s design efforts towards energy conservation and continued commitment to environment ensured Aquamarine was awarded a Gold Leed certification. Since the building was to function as an IT space, occupant comfort was paramount.

The facade of the building is an interesting composition of DGU Vision panels, SGU spandrel panels, and ACP coping. The design process included advanced studies of the building envelope aided by solar charts and sun path diagrams, relevant to location. This helped recommend an environment friendly and high-performance glazing solution. The glazing proposal was aimed at minimizing heat gain and reducing power consumption. The glass specification is of description SGG Planitherm Series of mint shade with VLT of 62% and 9 percent reflectance. The SHGC is 0.36 and SC is 0.41. The U value is 0.31 Btu/hr0f ft2.
