Interacting with MGS Architecture, Mr. Devang Shah, Executive Director, said although Prefab construction methodology is new in India as compare to developed countries, but it is now increasingly being accepted by domestic clients as being the more efficient and cost effective construction solution. Initially, it was put to use in setting up cold storages, site offices, portable cabins, exhibition halls, kiosks, workshops and schools but now it is being increasingly used in big projects like residential, commercial, resorts and hotels, among others.
In a short span of four years, it has already commissioned a record numbers of projects and our experience in the industry has been good and well accepted for using quality products matching international standards at an unmatched speed as compared to any other mode of construction. We are fully equipped to serve the industry with mass production and assembling force and provide requisite instructions to the building contractors to ensure speedy and easy construction backed by skilled and proficient manpower to complete projects on scheduled time. To achieve the laid down targets we have also set up a wholly owned subsidiary in the Project Management segment.
In the process, we provide conceptual project designs and detailed engineering works, right from concept through completion and have been recruiting trained personnel, adept with the Western methods of engineering and work management. Revealing about the sustainability of the product, Mr Shah said that we are using Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) with CKD style of functioning. It is complete nut-bolt technology and does not require any special tools to erect the 10,000 sq ft building with a height of 5-6 m. As it is being a German technology, we are outsourcing and importing the material from UK. About the special features of the material, he informed that it is a fire resistant, waterproof, sound resistant, corrosion free, algae free, anti-termite and above all it is 30% cheaper, higher in quality and durability as compared to standard or traditional products.
When asked to dwell on the suitability of the material to Indian conditions, he stated that the material has been designed keeping the extreme climatic conditions of India in mind and it is absolutely suitable for all weather conditions. Encouraged by the overwhelming response from customers in the domestic market, the company currently is in the process of introducing scores of new products in the Indian Prefab industry with complete adherence to the internationally laid down standards and norms, he concluded.
