Many consumers are unaware that uPVC windows built from recycled components can function just as well as those made from new materials and they may even be more ecologically friendly.

What does Lingel’s latest range of products include?
Lingel’s expertise lies in customizing the most unique products for use in residential projects, in small, medium, and large housing projects, as well as in offices, hotels, hospitals, and resorts. These include uPVC, Aluminium, Oak wood, Wooden Windows, Glass Conservatory, Window Sills, Venetian Blinds, Roller Shutters that can be operated manually or automatically, etc.Our recently launched new products include the Motorized Skylight, Roof Window, Top Hung Roof Window, a new handle selection, and a new powder coating finish. We have introduced windows in snow white colour that have a white foil on a white uPVC surface, making it appear the whitest of the whites. Given the colour, the company has ensured that their cleaning process is easy and effective.
Our Aluminum System 6.0 is one of the most aesthetic aluminium system available in India. As the design is similar to that of a wooden or uPVC window, we can use the complete uPVC hardware range. The options available are entrance doors, sliding and folding solutions, casement opening windows, lifts, and slides.

We also offer, along with our system Hueck, a thermal broken high-end Aluminum solution for heat insulation. These windows are produced in Germany. Our Germany produced Oakwood (timber) windows are known for their texture and classic look. One of our finest products is the Lingel Panzer, which is a perfect combination of glazing and hardware with Glazing (LPG) and Lingel Safety Box (LSB).
We have recently launched modular kitchens, internal partitions, and wardrobes for the Delhi/NCR region.
What initiatives is the company taking to create eco-friendly and sustainable products?

However, the transition to more recycled PVC depends on educating both consumers and manufacturers and government cooperation to enforce recycling standards. We at Lingel, actively contribute to this transition by measuring our products’ carbon footprints and cooperating with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to offset emissions through tree-planting projects.
We also support and welcome the move to incorporate more recycled content into our uPVC window products. We would like to educate the Indian market on the environmental benefits of these materials. While the move to fully sustainable uPVC products may take some time, initiatives like these are critical to bringing the industry forward.
How environment friendly is your manufacturing facility in India?
Lingel’s state-of-the-art 125,000 sq. ft. facility with a production capacity of 14,000 units / month, located in Kapriwas, Rewari, Haryana, is setting a benchmark for industrial innovation. Designed by Rao and Associate Architects, the factory’s unique geographical positioning and architectural design maximize energy efficiency and comfort.Large east and northwest-facing glazing allows ample daylight into the production area, minimizing the need for artificial lighting, while cantilevers and insulation prevent overheating. A 12-meter-high metal roof with insulation and a central ventilation system ensures a comfortable climate year-round. The entire setup, elevated 4 feet above the ground, facilitates easy loading of heavy windows. The fabrication unit is divided into aluminium and uPVC production wings, functioning seamlessly on a straight production line from material loading to finished goods dispatch. Future-ready features include provisions for solar panels and rainwater harvesting.
The facility houses Lingel’s control tower, complete with an MD’s cabin and a viewpoint overlooking production. A planned glass bridge and auditorium will further enhance the visitor experience. Safety is paramount, with extensive fire-fighting systems, including a 200,000-litre water tank and backup pumps. Our goal was to ensure a safe, comfortable work environment and to showcase our fabrication process to customers in the best way possible.
What makes your uPVC windows eco-friendly and sustainable and what are the roadblocks in their wider application in India?
In India, uPVC has gained popularity because of its energy efficiency, low maintenance requirements, and long lifespan, making it the preferred material for window profiles. However, the sustainability of uPVC is still being debated. Unlike aluminium, which can be recycled forever without losing quality, uPVC recycling is difficult. When uPVC windows are recycled, the material cannot be restored to its original quality, making its environmental impact questionable. Using virgin materials in production raises problems because it is based on crude oil extraction, which is resource-intensive and adds to carbon emissions. However, advancements in the uPVC sector are addressing these challenges. In Europe, especially Germany, the industry is forced through government norms of using large, recycled components in uPVC window profiles. While the outside skin is composed of virgin material to preserve the product’s appearance and longevity, the inner core is frequently constructed of recycled PVC. This technology greatly reduces the requirement for fresh crude oil, reducing the carbon footprint of manufacturing uPVC windows.
However, this technique is still in its early stage in India, owing to gaps in consumer awareness and a lack of governmental regulations supporting the use of recycled materials.
