It was a challenge to execute the house in the lockdown situation as we had to contend with lack of communication, delays in receiving the ordered furniture, shortage of labourers, safety concerns, and so on. Every day the situation was changing, so we had to take decisions quickly.
The house has simple linear lines, and each corner shows precise detailing. The approach was to create a design that was timeless, functional and versatile with the use of monochromatic shades, and pastel colours. The design is minimalist with no bling and enhanced simply with some décor elements, colour, and furniture pieces. Looking back, it was a challenging yet interesting project, which has even influenced us in considering the value engineered system in our future projects.
“We wanted something on the lines of a minimalistic Scandinavian home, the core characteristic of which is a comfort with a modernistic touch”
Anjali Rawat
In the Living Room, a pastel colour sofa and chair with a pouffe, a black coffee table with a corner tropical space and a cane light against a concrete background, and a wooden TV wall cladding, complement each other.
The Dining room has a minimalistic black modern table with sleek grey chairs. The area is highlighted with a hanging tropical wall art and a console.
The Master bedroom with the concrete wall and customised wall art is made chic with modern lights, concealed straight lined wardrobes, and earthy mesh side tables.
