Insigne Carpets has introduced a premium range of eco-friendly carpets to address the growing need of sustainability in the overall spectrum of design.

Asif Rahman, CEO, Insigne Carpets, says, “Insigne as a responsible carpet manufacturer has taken many steps to reduce our carbon footprint and joined the voluntary IAQ testing program for carpet, pad and adhesives developed by the CRI, Carpet and Rug Institute in 1990’s. Our Primary goal was to avoid VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions and supply GLP (Green Level Plus) certified product across the globe.”

GLP products are re-tested five times each year for targeted chemicals and the company had to go through a thorough change in all their production facilities to adhere to compliances of GREEN. A GREEN product is a sustainable product designed to minimize its environmental impacts during its whole life cycle and even after it's discarded. Green products are usually identified by having two basic goals – reducing waste and maximizing resource efficiency. The COVID-19 pandemic offers countries an opportunity to build recovery plans that will reverse current trends and change the consumption and production patterns towards a more sustainable future.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was developed by USGBC (US Green Building Council - Washington) in 1993. Current Version 3 was able to clearly specify the norms of Buildings and constructions i.e., 39% CO2; 40% Energy; 13% Water; 15% GDP. Architects, interior designers and building owners can now decide to go for an international Audit to get a Silver, Gold or Platinum certificate. Levels of certification are: Certified 40-49, Silver 50-59, Gold 60-79 and Platinum >80

A building can get LEED certificate but not the Product. Products only contribute points to achieve it.
  • Diverting carpet from landfill will contribute toward 2 pts
  • Carpet with pre or post-consumer content will contribute toward 2 pts
  • Carpet manufactured within 500 miles will contribute toward 2 pts
  • Rapidly renewable materials (wool) will contribute toward 1 pt
  • Low emitting adhesives and sealants will contribute toward 1pt
  • Gold and Platinum status are focused upon LCA and re-cycled content
Insigne carpet reduces environmental impact, reduces liability, reduces carbon footprint, contributes to LEED points, demonstrates social responsibility, and positions the company as a responsible industry leader.
