Compact Lamps Launches ORKUS

Sensing the high growth potential in the LED sector, 'Compact Lamps Private Limited', the leading CFL manufacturer and OEM suppliers to the leading brands has recently introduced its promising LED Brand "Orkus". Apart from this, the company has also launched few of its innovative and energy-efficient lighting products during a glittering ceremony such as remote operated solar bulb, three in one mood light bulb which changes its color as per the owner's mood besides many more products.

Targeting to achieve a turnover of Rs.1,000 crore in the next three years, Compact Lamps plans to upgrade its new facility from a current capacity utilization of 24 million LED products per annum to an enhanced production of 48 million by the end of this financial year to cater to its own brand as well as for the OEM wing. "After being an OEM for leading lighting companies in India, we have decided to launch our own brand Orkus witnessing the demand trend of LED products and initially targeted to invest over Rs.100 crore in the next three years to ramp up our LED manufacturing facilities, capabilities as well as the promotion of the new brand," apprises Mr. Kapil Gupta, MD, Compact Lamps Pvt. Ltd. after unveiling the new LED brand.

On this occasion, Mr. Gupta also made an announcement of getting BIS Certification for its products. Overwhelmed with this Certification, he further reiterated, "Already having our presence in the north, we targeted to have an extensive network across India with projections of 30% share from the brand 'Orkus' only. The company simultaneously envisages a grand PAN India promotion plan based on consumer psychography and customer needs and lighting aspirations.

Mr. Gupta further informed that currently, the company has four plants with combined production capacity of 60 million per annum in Uttarakhand. To enhance its production and to gear up for the growing LED demand in this sector, the company is unveiling its fifth exclusive facility.


In quest of being the predominant players in the LED Market, Compact Lamps has rolled out an array of exclusive LED products under the flagship brand 'Orkus' that includes Bulbs, Panels, Spot and Tube lights, among many others. Demonstrating its new LED range of products, Mr. R.
