Whirlpool of India, a subsidiary of Whirlpool Corporation, one of the world's leading home appliances company, has recently organized Kitchen Archi-Tech, one of its kind seminar for architects, in association with the Indian Institute of Architects in Delhi. The seminar was aimed at generating awareness among the architectural fraternity about new advancements in design and technology of appliances for the kitchen which today is a key space in any house and gets considerable attention while planning its construction.
In the seminar, Whirlpool of India showcased the transformation of kitchens to a huge gathering of architects of Delhi-NCR as to how gradually kitchens moved from the corner of a home to an integral part of it. The company also highlighted the latest technologies, designs, and future trends in the kitchen industry. Kitchen Archi-Tech also focused on how Built-in Kitchen appliances from Whirlpool have contributed to the changing face of the world's Built-in Appliance business.
The term Built-in is given to those kitchen appliances that are designed to integrate with the kitchen cabinetry and are ideal for modular kitchens which are fast becoming the vogue in India. Versatile and technologically advanced, these appliances add a touch of class while making cooking a pleasure. These products increase efficiency with their ease of use and precision cooking.
Speaking on why Whirlpool is a bit late when it comes to interacting with professionals like architects and interior designers, Mr. Das Gupta said, "Though we already have a whole lot of standalone appliances from decades now, we were busy developing a set of built-in appliances since last couple of years. We now have the catalogue ready with products that are very high on performance and glamour, and can transform the look of a kitchen. Through this gathering we want to introduce ourselves to them and let them know about what all we have in our bouquet for them."
According to him, while this is the first occasion that Whirlpool, as a company, has formally addressed a group of professionals, the company's trading partners keep meeting them as part of their business outreach. "We are happy with the turnout and the response. We are planning more such events in other major cities/regions of the country in time to come."
Going forward the company is also coming up with experience centre across the country for the live demonstration of its range of products. "As of now, we have such centres currently operational in Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, and Kolkata. While various other cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and the like are on radar for the next step of expansion. We already got associated with builders like DLF for a couple of their projects, and now we believe that since we have a very convincing range of products backed by equally competent supply chain, this association with professionals will enable us to reap benefits in time to come," said Mr. Kapur.
