Carysil (Acrysil) was one of the participants in the recently concluded India Kitchen & Bath 2015 fair, held in New Delhi, which according to the company was a great success owing to tremendous response it received from all section of visitors, including architects and builders. The company had displayed its German engineered kitchen and bath wares along with its indigenous developed ones. The gamut of Carysil products showcased were chimneys, hobs & cook tops, oven, wine chillers, dishwashers, washbasins, faucets, etc.

Carysil is a designer brand and the only manufacturer of composite quartz kitchen sinks in Asia. Conceptualized and incepted in 1986 under the parent company Acrysil, Carysil is an outcome of a joint venture between the parent company and inventors of the product, Schock & Co., GmbH of Germany. Three decades later, Carysil is the third largest company in its segment in the world.

According to Mr. Chirag Parekh, the company's CMD, Carysil brand is more than two decade old in India. "We are the pioneers in the world for quartz kitchen sinks in the country." Today, Carysil Quartz Sinks are sold to its discerning customers across 45 countries including USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, China, Far East, and Gulf Countries. "We have a wholly owned subsidiary, Acrysil GmbH in Germany in order to further strengthen our presence in the demanding European markets," he says adding that all the Acrysil's products conform to the highest quality standards.

Delineating further on quality, Mr. Parekh says, "Like our quartz sinks, our stainless steel sinks and range of other products are made from the finest quality raw material – mostly imported from Europe, using cutting edge technology, and incorporating the latest international trends in design and style. At Acrysil, while normal SS sinks are manufactured by press/draw process, we fabricate our SS sinks using SS304 and a proprietary method in which profiles are cut, shaped, and then welded using robotic machine to achieve the highest standards of strength and finish."

Acrysil offers a combination of indigenous and imported products. "Though we manufacture quite a few products indigenously, we also source partly from Europe," says Mr. Parekh adding that the chimneys and hobs will soon be manufactured in a new plant. "Specially designed to target high-end customers, we are adding a couple of new features like touch panel, LED lights, and silent blowers, which hitherto not seen in Indian products."

Speaking about the evolution, Mr. Parekh says, "We are in the process of transformation to become a Kitchen solution provider instead of concentrating only on sinks." The company has lately diversified into faucets, food waste disposer, and kitchen appliances like chimneys, hobs & cook tops, oven, wine chillers, and dishwashers. "We have added appliances in due course. Soon, we will expand the offering," he adds.

When it comes to designing, Mr. Parekh is very passionate about fresh ideas. "For this, we keep interacting with people in the industry including the specifiers like interior designers, whom we take the feedback from. However, designing is my passion and I personally take care of the design segment. We have an in-house design team. We have recently designed slider, which is for the first time in India and the world. It is based on simple, sophisticated touch operation, comes with powerful four-way suction as it can suck plywood weighing six kilograms, and works on pretty silent, pressure die-casted motor," he explains.

Divulging on service part, Mr. Parekh highlights that the company has plans to soon launch service van network. "Though the customer has to pay a premium for it, but service will be there in just two-three hours," he avers adding that service is the key, and therefore, must be planned well in advance to keep the customers satisfied. "A lot of electronics is already in-place in the kitchen segment, especially in appliances, while demand is on the surge for technology-driven products. This is paving the way for an extensive service-oriented era."
