Ceramic Tile industry set to grow

According to a study, the ceramic tiles industry having recorded phenomenal growth through value-addition products and geographical reach, has the potential to maintain its momentum in the medium term. Despite slowdown in the real estate and adverse macroeconomic environment and low per capita consumption of tiles in the country, it has acquitted well in its business performance. As currently a number of ambitious programmes have been launched like Smart Cities, Swachh Bharat Sanitation and Housing for All by 2022, these programmes would augur well for the future growth of ceramic tile sector in the country. The implementation of GST will also give a big push to this sector, as it will create a seamless national market. The study states that, India has one of the fastest growing ceramic tiles market in the world, its ceramic tile industry is set to grow faster.
