Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), the global certification body for the LEED green building program and Philips Lighting India Limited recently announced collaboration dedicated to advancing sustainability and human health within the built environment in India. The collaboration will include knowledge sharing, professional education and continued localization of green building strategies that include lighting design and lighting systems.
GBCI and COO of the U.S. Green Building Council, President, Mahesh Ramanujam said, "Partnership is the new leadership and joining hands with Philips Lighting India, a market leader in the area of efficient lighting products and sustainable lighting solutions, will help further advance human health related to the built environment in India," said "We are focused on offering energy efficient lighting products and solutions that are designed with the highest safety standards for consumers." said Harshavardhan Chitale, Vice Chairman and MD - Philips Lighting India Limited.
Two key elements of the partnership include capability building for architects, consultants, designers, builders, and end-users as well as support to GBCI in additional localization of green building certification systems.
