Dow Corning Opens Building Solutions Centre and Launches TSSA

Dow Corning, a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, is expanding its India operations with the opening of the SAHAYOG Building Solutions Centre in New Delhi. The announcement has been made recently during a press conference where the company has also launched a new product Dow Corning® Transparent Structural Silicone Sealant (TSSA) for structural glazing in India.

Welcoming the attendees, Mr. Jean-Paul Hautekeer – Global HPB Marketing Director, during the Solutions Centre launch, said that this New Centre is dedicated to providing unrivalled technical support and customer service. Specialists at this centre will collaborate with construction industry professionals, providing comprehensive project support, industry-leading technical training and hands-on, skill-building workshops. A primary focus will be on the performance, safety and durability of buildings constructed using Dow Corning silicone materials in a range of everyday and specialist applications in new and renovation projects.

Mr. Jean elaborated that visitors to SAHAYOG will be able to see first-hand the company's range of high performance building solutions, including their most recent innovations in silicone technology, some of which were used in the construction of this purpose-built facility. One such example is Dow Corning® Transparent Structural Silicone Sealant (TSSA), which enhances the benefits of point-fixed architectural glass by bonding the bolts which secure the glazing in place using a high-strength silicone film. This revolutionary material allows insulating glass, coloured glass surfaces or functional coating façade skins to be installed without breaching the cavity of the glass and comprising the integrity of the façade.

He informed that the SAHAYOG Building Solutions Centre will also provide access to Dow Corning's leading Quality Bond™ program, which lifts standards of sealing and bonding to the highest possible level by implementing standards of best practice in quality control, quality assurance, and production application with specialist silicone applicators.

This new Solutions Centre, which will be operated in partnership with Silicone Concepts, reinforces the company's commitment to the Indian market and to its customer's success', said Basab Saha, Marketing Manager, High Performance Building Solutions –Dow Corning South Asia.

According to Mr. Jean, "Silicone based solutions helps in developing sustainable and innovative building design. It can help in reducing energy loss by almost 20-30%, leading to significant energy conservation. Moreover, silicone products offer structural performance, durability, longevity, and weather ability. The solutions are used for structural glazing, insulating glazing, weather sealing, window bonding etc."

When asked about the demand of silicone sealant in India, Mr. Jean said that we're expecting a good demand of sustainable solutions like ours for projects such as infrastructure development and smart cities construction. To trap this business opportunity and serve the growing demand for silicone materials and services in India, we're looking to open such type of solution centers in different parts of the country.
