TensoTalk 2015

In the tensile architecture series of lectures and spectacular presentations covering networking, model making workshops and demonstrations oriented events organized by Mehler Texnologies India Pvt. Ltd. [A Low & Bonar Company] under the banner of TensoTalk-2015 evoked huge response from architects, engineers, project developers, and other stakeholders across infrastructure and construction segments. The tensile architecture series, which were held at three different metropolitan cities including on November 24th, 2015 at The Lalit in Bangalore, November 25th, 2015 at The Hilton in Mumbai, and on November 27th, 2015 at The Claridges in Delhi where Mr. Wolfgang Lahr, Economy Department, German Embassy in New Delhi was the "chief guest" while Mr. Axel Woltmann, Global Business director of Mehler Texnologies, Low & Bonar PLC UK, graced the occasion as the "Guest of Honor." The prominent participants engaged in the segment included Tensile Fabric Structure fabricators like Construction Catalyzers, McCoy Architectural Systems Pvt. Ltd. and Western Outdoor Structures Pvt. Ltd., among others.

The highlights of the Delhi function marked the flawless and unmatched presentations and demonstrations by Prof. Dr. Robert Off, Dean, Institute of Membranes and Shells Technology IMS, Dessau, Germany; Ms. Margret Bothig, Dipl. Ing Architect, and India Head, GMP Architects, Germany; and also by Ms. Katja Bernert, Dipl. Ing. Architect Mehler Texnologies GmbH.

Tensile Architecture

Prof. Dr. Robert Off founded the Institute for Membrane and Shell Technologies and Building and Real Estate IMS e.V in Bobingen, which is currently an Institute at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Dessau-RoBlau. He is also credited with various inventions related with memberane structures and is currently engaged in researching the transformation of membrane structures into membrane hybrid shells and is the builder of several innovative projects in the field of membrane structures.

Similarly, Margret Bothig is currently working as an architect at gmp - Gerkan, Marg and Partners architects, which is one of the major architecture and urban planning companies worldwide (23. worldrank). In her presentation, Ms. Margaret Bothig presented the case studies of various sports stadium and Public Infrastructure Projects including railway stations and Metro Stations executed in Tensile Fabric Structures around the world.

Likewise, Katja Bernert, is also an architect at the internationally operating coater of textile membranes Mehler Technologies. As a partner of planners of tensile architecture, she closes the gap between product developers and architects and engineers. In her presentation she dwelled on a range of membranes available with Mehler Texnologies and also elaborated on the advantages of using Mehler Tensile Membranes.

In the concluding session of the event, Dr. Robert Off elaborated on various aspects of designing a tensile structure and that his presentation was preceded by a model making workshop by all participating architects, engineers, and other participants.
