Omaxe Ltd. has announced the launch of Omaxe Chowk, Ludhiana, a modern mixed-use high-street destination designed to redefine organised retail and luxury living in the city. Strategically located at Ghumar Mandi, one of Ludhiana’s most prominent commercial and wedding-shopping hubs, the project integrates premium retail, dining, entertainment, and luxury residences within a single, well-planned development.

The 5.25-acre project, being developed with a total investment of ₹500 crore, is situated on land secured through a competitive bidding process conducted by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) and is being developed on a leasehold basis. The project aims to bring contemporary planning, scale, and structure to one of Ludhiana’s busiest high-footfall markets.

Omaxe Chowk reflects the evolving way Indian cities engage with commercial spaces, where shopping is increasingly part of a broader social and lifestyle experience. Designed as a modern high-street market, the project brings together wedding shopping, jewellery, fashion, destination dining, entertainment, and luxury residences, offering a more organised and comfortable alternative to traditional market areas while remaining rooted in Ludhiana’s commercial culture.

Commenting on the launch, Jatin Goel, Executive Director, Omaxe Ltd., said, “Ludhiana has always been an important market for Omaxe, shaped by strong enterprise and vibrant commercial activity. With Omaxe Chowk, we aim to create a destination that is contemporary yet familiar — one that brings structure, luxury, ease, and comfort to the way people shop, dine, and spend time. Walk-to-shop convenience and seamless connectivity between residential, office, retail, and dining spaces have been key focus areas in the project’s planning.”

The development will include a curated mix of premium retail outlets, wedding and jewellery showrooms, fashion brands, destination dining, and an entertainment zone, catering to both local shoppers and NRIs who frequently visit Ludhiana for wedding and occasion-led purchases. A dedicated flagship food and experience zone, Dawatpur, will anchor the culinary and social offering. Details of brand participation will be announced closer to the launch.

Omaxe Chowk will feature two-side frontage, with access from Rani Jhansi Road and College Road, enhancing visibility and ease of entry. The project will provide wide access roads, multiple entry and exit points, organised internal circulation, and parking for over 1,000 cars, addressing long-standing congestion issues in traditional market areas. The development will also include wide pedestrian walkways and heritage-inspired architecture blended with modern design, creating a functional yet immersive retail and lifestyle destination.

The project is expected to generate significant employment during construction and create long-term jobs across retail, food and beverage, security, maintenance, and facility management. By attracting brands, visitors, and events, Omaxe Chowk is also expected to boost surrounding businesses, enhance footfall, and contribute to sustained economic growth in Ludhiana. Developed as a public-private partnership (PPP) between RLDA and Ludhiana Wholesale Market Private Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of Omaxe Ltd.), the project is scheduled for delivery under RERA timelines by June 2030. The inclusion of luxury residences further strengthens its mixed-use character, adding long-term liveability and urban value to the destination.
