What initiatives is the company taking to create eco-friendly and sustainable products?

Hansgrohe India’s eco-friendly initiatives include energy efficiency, waste and water reduction. We have developed water-saving technologies like EcoSmart, which reduces water consumption by up to 60%, and AirPower, enhancing efficiency by infusing water with air. CoolStart technology is to conserve energy by activating hot water only when needed.

We use durable, recyclable materials that ensures product longevity and minimizes environmental impact. Through partnerships and awareness, we encourage responsible water usage. We have recently launched an initiative of switching to paper product packaging from plastic by the end of 2025. The cardboard and paper used can be completely recycled after use.

We emphasize recycling and reuse to reduce material wastage during production. We integrate closed-loop systems to recycle water in manufacturing and ensure environmentally conscious material selection. The use of recyclable packaging and sustainable product design, such as water-saving faucets and showers, further support our green initiatives.

What demand are you seeing for your eco-friendly products?

There is a growing demand across the world for eco-friendly products considering the need for sustainability, environmental conservation, and the urgent need to address climate change by reducing water and energy consumption. At Hansgrohe, we support a sustainable lifestyle in daily water routines. In the 1980s, we invented the first water-saving shower, and we continue to improve our flow rates and efficiency.

We see a significant demand for our sustainable product range like Raindance Hand Shower, Talis S Basin Mixer, Metris Select Kitchen Mixer, AXOR Starck Organic Basin Mixer, AXOR One Shower System and more. In fact, builders and designers are also emphasizing green building practices, making water-efficient faucets, showers, and mixers popular choices. As sustainability becomes a critical consideration in urban development and individual lifestyles, Hansgrohe India continues to cater to this demand by offering innovative products that combine luxury with resource efficiency, aligning with the nation’s drive towards sustainable living.

What are the challenges with respect to the cost, wider adoption, etc?

Creating an eco-friendly product range involves challenges such as balancing sustainability with premium design, ensuring resource-efficient technologies, meeting luxury standards, managing higher production costs, sourcing sustainable materials, and addressing market misconceptions about performance trade-offs. Educating consumers and stakeholders about the long-term benefits of eco-friendly solutions is also crucial for spreading awareness and encouraging the use of eco-friendly products.
