Hidden fasteners for wood decks
The durability of the wood deck depends not only on the correct choice of raw material but also on the attention paid to construction details. Direct contact of the wood with the ground underneath the deck structure, water stagnation and the use of unsuitable fasteners that do not allow for wood movements, must be avoided.
The company's aim is to provide the right solution for the best construction of a wood deck. In order to get this goal, rothoblaas propose two different fixing systems for terraces timber cladding: Terralock and Flat.
Terralock
Terralock fasteners are available in stainless steel or aluminium and in two formats.
Such a variety provides for versatile uses, even in the case of decks having complex shapes. Terralock fasteners ensure rapid and accurate assembly due to the assembly stop and allows for easy replacement of any single damaged board.
Flat
The use of wood for the construction of external facades is becoming increasingly common. This choice in fact allows to combine the best aesthetic results with thermal performance. As a construction material, wood is ideal because of its multitude of colors and shades, of its capability to meet the most varied architectural requirements and because of its ability to transform a simple wall into a designer element. The facade, when ventilated, also helps to improve the insulation of the building and to enhance performance, both in winter and in summer. However, it is important to focus on construction detail, so as to ensure durability of the facade, thus preventing its premature deterioration due to stagnant water and rot, while assuring static strength, considering the movement and swelling of the wood, as well as aesthetic continuity.
