
The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) hosted Green Synergy Noida: "Pathways to Carbon Neutrality in the Built Environment – A Regional Lens on Noida's Transition" on August 29, 2025, at Holiday Inn Mayur Vihar, New Delhi. The event brought together leading voices and visionaries in green infrastructure from the NCR and beyond.
The IGBC Noida Chapter convened this pivotal summit to catalyze climate action and resilience in the built environment amid rising climate emergencies, including heatwaves, urban flooding, air pollution, and water scarcity. Green Synergy Noida demonstrated IGBC's commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among government, industry, finance, academia, and sustainability experts, aiming to accelerate the adoption of net-zero strategies across Noida’s rapidly evolving urban landscape.
D.K. Kamra, Chief Guest and Member of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India, Government of India, said in his special address, “Noida stands at the crossroads of growth and responsibility. Achieving carbon neutrality in our buildings and infrastructure is a national opportunity. By adopting IGBC ratings and embracing green products and innovative climate solutions, we can set benchmarks for the country and lead the way in sustainable urban transformation.”
The Summit began with an exclusive IGBC Noida Chapter Members’ Meet, providing a vital networking opportunity to align on strategic initiatives for a greener future. In Technical Session I, industry leaders explored:
- Climate-responsive design and nature-based solutions for sustainable infrastructure
- Emerging technologies such as digital twins and AI to power net-zero pathways
- Mitigating urban heat islands and innovative material use, including next-gen glass and advanced BIM for smarter, greener construction
K.D. Singh, Chairman of IGBC Noida Chapter, said, “Noida and Greater Noida have been at the forefront of green development, with more than 680 projects registering over 806 million sq. ft. of green building footprint under IGBC rating systems. This is a matter of immense pride, as it reflects the region’s growing commitment to sustainable built environments. Events like the Green Synergy Summit play a pivotal role in sensitizing stakeholders and creating a collaborative platform for dialogue, innovation, and collective action towards a greener future.”

A high-impact plenary panel, led by Ar. Sheetal Tuteja (Immediate Past Chairperson, IGBC Delhi Chapter), addressed the urgent intersection of climate crisis and urban development. Eminent participants representing NCRTC, CREDAI, Gaursons Group, Noida International Airport, Uttar Pradesh Metro, IFC-World Bank Group, IIFL Housing Finance, and Architects Atelier shared solutions for building sector leadership in climate emergency response and mobilizing green finance for resilient urban infrastructure.
Green Synergy Noida underscored IGBC's mission to be the vanguard of sustainable development, driving scalable solutions and multi-sectoral partnerships that empower Noida and the NCR to achieve low-carbon, inclusive growth across the built environment lifecycle.
