Scot Horst, Founder of Arc, to deliver keynote speech at Greenbuild India

The U.S. Green Building Council has announced that Scot Horst, Founder of Arc Skoru, will deliver the opening keynote speech at Greenbuild India, taking place during February 6-7, 2020, at the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru. By developing tools that inspire people to shift the trajectory of the climate crisis in measurable and holistic ways, Horst is committed to redressing climate change. Prior to founding the Arc platform, which measures the actual performance of cities, buildings and spaces as they work toward LEED certification or other sustainability goals, Horst helped establish LEED as the premier global benchmark tool for high-performing green buildings, and helped drive LEED’s growth from hundreds to more than 100,000 projects today in more than 160 countries.

“Platforms like Greenbuild are an opportunity for the green building industry to come together and tell stories about how green buildings impact the people who use them,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, President & CEO, USGBC and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). He will be sharing the vision for the second generation of USGBC and talking about how green buildings can create a higher standard of living for people across India and around the world.

Greenbuild has become the premier convener for the green building industry. The conference program offers educative sessions by green building experts covering a wide variety of sustainability topics, including LEED v4.1, waste reduction and building performance. A pre-conference technical workshop will be held on Feb. 5. Attendees will also have an opportunity to attend the annual Greenbuild Celebration, Leadership Awards Ceremony; the signature Women in Green Luncheon, and a breakfast training session where they will learn about ways to leverage the Arc performance platform.

At Greenbuild India, leaders will share their vision about the future of green buildings in India, which is home to more than 3,200 LEED projects, representing 150 million gross sqm of space. Architects and real estate developers will learn about current research and best practices, connect with sustainability experts, and see innovative technologies and products to take their projects to the next level. Greenbuild is a multi-year recipient of IMEX Green Meetings Award.
