Federation of Indian Granite & Stone Industry (FIGSI)
The Federation of Indian Granite & Stone Industry (FIGSI) is organising India’s most acclaimed “Seminar on Natural Stone” in association with Indian Monument Manufacturers Association (IMMA) and Tamil Nadu Granite Quarry Owners & Exporters Association (TNGQOEA).

The seminar is scheduled to take place on Thursday, the 6th of January, 2022 at Hotel GRT Grand, T Nagar, Chennai from 5:00 pm onwards. The Seminar will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Thiru. Durai Murugan, Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources, Minerals and Mines, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the august presence of Thiru Thangam Thennarasu, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Thiru T M Anbarasan, Hon’ble Minister for MSME, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The event is hosted by Shri. Ishwinder Singh, President, FIGSI, Shri. N Ashoken, Vice President, FIGSI, and Shri. S Krishna Prasad, General Secretary, FIGSI in association with Shri. M Ramasamy, President, IMMA and Shri. N Mahesh, President TNGQOEA.

FIGSI was established by Founder President Shri. R Veeramani in 1983. As the voice of the Natural Stone fraternity, it aims to represent and promote natural stone such as granite, marble, sand stone, slate etc around the world. It has a strong pan India presence with more than 1300 members engaged in the entire spectrum of natural stone activities like quarrying, processing, and exporting.

Tamil Nadu’s contribution towards the development of the Natural Stone industry is unparalleled and a dominant force for decades. Many of the world’s reputed and popular varieties of granite are found in Tamil Nadu and the state has a massive installed production capacity. It is in the forefront of natural stone exports - both as rough granite blocks and processed stones.

The seminar will bring together over 200 participants representing the entire natural stone industry, to facilitate direct interaction with the policy-makers to iron out obstacles and create a conducive environment for growth; understand various dimensions of the Natural Stone sector; boost anufacturing and exports which have gained prominence due to the slowdown of Chinese exports; analyze the most pressing issues, potential, and challenges faced by the industry; network with industry veterans for developing new guidelines to simplify procedures and take the industry to the next level of growth.
