We, at ATPL, are extremely satisfied that we had a small, but important part to play in the launch of this very high-end showroom by creating an attractive ambiance with a controlled lighting system

For Lighting Consultant Harmeet Singh, the challenging task was to ensure that the space was given the right lighting ambiance and that the products on display are shown to their best advantage. Since the showroom is primarily visited by clients with prior appointment, he had to also consider saving energy when any space in the vast showroom was unoccupied.

Anusha Technovision Pvt. Ltd. (ATPL) designed the automation system with a Lutron HQP6 Processor system. The lighting control is enabled via wireless wall-mounted keypads and energy saving is accomplished in two ways: a time clock adjusts the lighting scene in various areas and as per the time of the day. During the less busy hours, the lighting, by default, in any area, lowers and changes to a higher level during peak hours. The sales people can manually adjust the light levels when showing a specific exhibit or when highlighting a product feature to the customers.

Most of the areas have been provided with occupancy sensors, which dim the lights or shut them off completely when a space is unoccupied. With the help of controls, lighting levels can be adjusted to make the space bright or dim, as desired. As Harmeet says "Good lighting design combines the correct light fixtures with lighting controls to give flexibility and the right ambiance."

All the controls on the walls are replicated on the smartphones and in the ipads of the staff, as an additional control option when taking customers around. Says Raman Arora, proud owner of Marmo Homes, "We have the finest collection of floor tiles, wall coverings and other products, all of which have been set within a soothing ambiance and displayed most attractively, largely due to the strategic lighting and control systems that align with our high-end retail approach."
