Please tell us about Regency Ceramics’ anti-microbial tiles and their benefits.

Regency Ceramics has collaborated with a global leader in anti-bacterial additives and odor control solutions to introduce supremely efficient anti-microbial tiles. The technology is built into the manufacturing process, which provides the tiles with a continuous level of protection from the growth of common microbes. The product gives architects and designers incredible number of options when considering the development of a range of environments such as:
  • Improving the cleanliness of food contact environments like restaurants and cafeterias
  • Healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics where tiles are subject to frequent harsh cleaning
  • Shopping malls, wellness centers where super performance and aesthetics are valued

What are the properties of Regency Ceramics’ Cool Roof Tiles?

Regency Ceramics’ Cool roof tiles are designed to be effective not only during summer but also during other seasons. While they primarily reflect sunlight and reduce heat absorption to keep buildings cooler in hot weather, they can also provide benefits in other seasons.

During cooler seasons, cool roof tiles can help maintain more stable indoor temperatures by reducing heat transfer into the building. This can contribute to improved thermal comfort and potentially lower heating costs by minimizing heat loss through the roof. Additionally, the reflective properties of cool roof tiles can help mitigate temperature fluctuations and reduce thermal stress on the roofing materials, which may extend the lifespan of the roof.

Cool Roof Tiles, ranging from 8mm to 18mm in thickness, can help in reduction of room temperature by up to 11 degrees Celsius. Cool roof tiles have a special glaze composed of alumina silicate particles embedded with nanoparticles of zirconium silicate and zinc oxide admixtures, fired at very high temperatures. The result is a tile surface with a Solar Reflective Index (SRI) value above 90. Their installation process involves removing the existing roofing material and preparing the surface for the cool roof tiles.

Having restarted manufacturing, post an operational halt, how does Regency Ceramics plan to re-establish its brand?

Regency Ceramics is a publicly listed company on the BSE and NSE and has been a household name in the Ceramics industry since 1983. Post an operational halt at its Yanam manufacturing unit, Regency has restarted its manufacturing, and plans to increase its production capacity to 25000 sqm., anticipating approx. sales of Rs. 150 crores annually. Our aim is to garner a significant share of the growing Indian Ceramics market and achieve a revenue target of Rs. 100 crore by FY 26.

With the revival of our manufacturing plant and a strong brand recall in southern states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa, and the northeastern states, our Yanam unit will manufacture a new range of Natural Tiles which will be a fusion of natural, fluid designs, geometry, and technology. There will be a focus on technical products such as anti-bacterial tiles and cool roof tiles which can create potential savings in terms of units of electricity by reducing temperature upto 11 degrees Celsius. The company has also opened a franchise store in Bangalore and is set to launch 25 experience centers across 5 states.
