The site has a south facing entry from a 3m wide road; to the west is an unoccupied land, and enveloping the other edges are residences that comprise the neighbourhood. The exterior façade of the house is primarily composed of walls featuring exposed laterite stone, cement textures, and tandoor stone paving. A bamboo wall along the courtyard offers ample privacy.

The entry through the sit-out offers a smooth transition from the outside to the interiors. The entry opens into the veranda, which also acts as an open living space, and looks out into a waterbody on the south and a garden on the east.

The double height living room with natural light streaming in and courtyards with sliding doors on either side, gives a sense of expansiveness. The Kottil adds an extra charm as a cosy nook. The zen garden extends the house outwards and creates an organic tranquil space. An open wash area next to the courtyard is carved out of a monolithic stone block.

The vernacular is expressed through the exposed polished plastered walls, exposed concrete ceiling, kadappa stone flooring, the sloping roof extensions, the Athangudi tile flooring leading to the courtyard, louvered wooden windows, exposed laterite, and cement textured walls, while the distressed blue furnishings in the kitchen and dining room create a rustic, homey charm.

What catches the eye is the riot of colours in the flooring in the different spaces: leather finish black granite stone flooring in the veranda, verdant green floral-patterned tiles, blue oxide flooring complemented by organic textures of the furnishings, clay ceiling tiles accentuated by wooden ceiling and led strip light, and yellow oxide flooring,

Vibes is perceived as a place that offers the much-needed interlude from the hectic world and as a haven for repose. Each element was handpicked and is an acknowledgement of the value of art. The spaces mutate into various moods during the day and night, creating new, unexpected, and calming experiences.
