The Sword of Honour is the highest health and safety management accolades for the best performing companies worldwide. To compete, an organization has to first achieve the highest rating of ‘Five stars’ (92% score or above) in the British Safety Council’s health and safety audit. During the audit, the organization must demonstrate that they excel in health and safety management across various facets of the business. The audit comprises on location sampling of operational activities and interviews with staff and stakeholders for real time feedback. While occupational health and safety at the Business Parks was the key focus, it also offered a structured path for continual improvement towards best practice status.
Organisations from around the world who have achieved five-star rating in British Safety Council Five Star Audit are invited to apply for The Sword of Honour Awards. This year, the winning organisations came from a wide range of industry sectors in the UK, Europe, India and the Middle East, including construction, education and training, energy generation, food and drink, leisure, logistics, manufacturing, retail and transport.
