Ar Jabeen Zacharias is IIID’s new President
Ar Jabeen L Zacharias has become the first lady President of the prestigious institution since its inception in 1972. As the new President of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), she takes charge along with a new Executive Council to steer the institution during the next 2 years.

IIID is the apex body of Designers, Architects and related Trade with a pan India presence of around 10,000 members. Founded in 1972, IIID has 31 Chapters and centres in India and one International Center in Dubai. IIID plays a very crucial role in inspiring and shaping opinions amongst the design fraternity, facilitating interactions amongst key stakeholders and decision makers of the country and is thus instrumental in streamlining the nation’s design policies and trends.

Ar Jabeen brings more than three decades of architecture, planning, project management, consultancy and training to the position. She has held leadership positions both with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and IIID. Between 2002-04 she was the Chairperson of the IIA Kerala Chapter. She is the Chief Architect of Jabeen Zacharias Architects and has steered the firm to award winning practices with over 300 projects that include 5-star hotels, malls, apartments, offices and luxury residences in India, USA and Middle East. She has received many awards and recognition for design excellence and leadership. In addition, she serves as a juror in numerous architecture and design award programs and lectures at various institutes in Kerala.
