Over a decade-old VEKA India is a part of VEKA AG, one of the world's leading manufacturers of uPVC profile systems for windows & doors. Based in Sendenhorst, Germany, the parent company has 19 subsidiaries spread across three continents, and representative offices in more than 40 countries around the world.
"We have recently celebrated the successful completion of 10 years in India," said Mr Rajesh Chawla while speaking to MGS Architecture during the fenesterbau/frontale India 2015. "Having come this far, what we have understood, based on our exposure of this market here, is that there exists two sets of the market, each with entirely different needs and bases - the retail market where extreme customization is the key and the builders' market from where the volumes come. To cater to the varied needs, VEKA offers two systems in the market - i) VEKA Premium series and ii) VEKA Projects series, which is WHS Halo systems," elaborated Mr Chawla.
According to him, VEKA Premium series offers a wide range of innovative windows & doors solutions. The range covers many design options for windows & doors including tilt & turn windows, bottom hung windows, lever operated windows, pivoted and reversible windows, sliding & folding doors, lift & slide doors, sl 90 solutions, low threshold solutions, etc. The range also has wood finish laminated profiles, colour options with co ex profiles, wide range of glazing beads, dgu louvers, fly mesh, etc.
On the other hand, to serve the projects, the company has recently introduced its WHS Halo system profiles in India. WHS Halo is a brand that comes from VEKA UK, and the profile systems are manufactured in VEKA's own plant in Shanghai. The possible solutions with this series are sliding windows & doors - 2track, 3track solutions, clip of solution for fly mesh, casement windows & doors, and ancillary profiles for various combination windows & doors.
Over the years, VEKA in India has developed a wide network of associate fabricators and dealers in all major cities who can provide efficient services towards design fabrication supply and handling installation of VEKA system uPVC windows & doors. "As of now, we have 22 fabricators and five dealers exclusive with us," said Mr. Chawla.
Speaking to MGS Architecture, Mr. Chawla raised his concern on relatively poor installation practices. "We are trying to percolate right practices among the industry stakeholders. For this, we keep doing frequent professionals' meet-up at our facility in Mumbai, wherein we discuss the nuances attached to installation practices and products' quality in detail. To cater to the needs of specifiers, we have a dedicated team that keeps meeting and updating them on any new development."
