The Expo served as a platform to announce Tata BlueScope Steel’s commitment to the environment as the company declared its publishing of the EPD document. EPD transparently reports objective, comparable and third-party verified data about products and services and their environmental performance from a lifecycle perspective.
Tata BlueScope Steel also received the GRIHA certification – the first in the industry for colour coated coils. GRIHA is India’s very own rating system jointly developed by TERI and MNRE that analyses the holistic performance of buildings concerning the environment.
Tata BlueScope Steel also received the IGBC Certification for green measures considered while manufacturing its products, which include production, water conservation, energy-efficiency, building materials used etc.

EPDs, GRIHA, and IGBC certifications are an important validation, both for the manufacturer to provide transparent data about environmental sustainability of its products, and for the responsible customer to make informed purchasing decisions. We are certain that the demand for environmentally viable/sustainable solutions will increase in the near future, and we are gearing up in that direction. This Expo has helped us spread the word to a wider audience in the last 2-3 days.”
Tata BlueScope Steel had earlier received the GreenPro Certification for both COLORBOND® and ZINCALUME® steel, and is posed to offer innovative and advanced architecture solutions in steel for a sustainable future.
