Green projects can help reduce capital and operational expenditures while enhancing asset value and attracting long-term investments.

Pradeep Aggarwal - Founder & Chairman, Signature Global Group

Over the past five years, India has made significant strides towards achieving a more sustainable future, focusing on promoting green building development. During this period, the supply of green-certified buildings has increased by 37%, with an additional 78 million sqft of certified stock added, compared to the previous five-year period from 2012 to 2016, as reported by CBRE India.

Consumer consciousness regarding their carbon footprint has escalated, leading to a heightened emphasis on long-term sustainability in lifestyle choices. Consumers are looking for properties that offer energy efficiency and eco-friendly features that can reduce energy bills and provide a healthier living and working environment.

These benefits make the buildings more attractive to potential buyers or renters, increasing their marketability and potentially commanding higher prices. Investors also recognise the long-term cost savings and potential for higher returns associated with green buildings. In response, developers are increasingly adopting environmentally conscious measures and green building practices. They are also seeking nationally and internationally recognised green certifications such as LEED , IGBC and EDGE to attract eco-conscious tenants and buyers. This can increase demand and asset value appreciation over time.

Sustainable real estate projects can achieve various savings over the long term, including reduced operational and maintenance costs, lower utility bills, and better access to financing. Green buildings, designed to be environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient, offer numerous benefits to occupants such as lower utility costs, improved indoor air quality, and a healthier living environment.

Our Signature Global Park project in Gurgaon (Sohna), located on the foothills of Aravalis, offers picturesque views and a pollution-free environment. Spread over 25 acres, this residential is designed by reputed architect Padam Shri Hafeez Contractor. The project has achieved the unique EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency) certification of IFC. While the IFC standard for green building ensures a minimum 20% predicted savings in energy and water use and embodied energy in materials, Signature Global Park has 32% energy savings, 52% water savings, and 53% less embodied energy in its construction materials.
