Where, on one side, this growth puts India on a respectable position globally, it also demands a certain level of responsibility towards the country's greener environment and natural resource conservation. These days' "going green" is the buzz word.

Sources reveal that Karnataka has 41 green buildings which is the fourth largest figure for any state in the country and out of 41, 39 buildings are in Bangalore.Surprisingly, the penetration level according to the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is just 5%. The good sign is that the residential sector is coming up with such buildings. This sector will outnumber the commercial buildings by 2030 in India.

Maharashtra, the National Capital Region, Tamil Nadu are some regions where green construction is picking up rapidly.
