Pink was a predominant color that was used throughout the cities under the British Raj. And Cawnpore had a lot of significance related to the pink monotone shade card as most of the public buildings were based on the pink series

The Pink Zebra designed by Renesa Architecture Design Interiors Studio sits on one of the oldest buildings of Kanpur, making a transition from the old to the new through design and re-architecture. The site is a fascinating experience of cultivating the idea of renaissance of old structures in the British Raj era to the new-age Kanpur experience.

Its unique facade design invites the passersby into a magical, expertly crafted world whose spaces create an everlasting impression. The Pink Zebra is a take on the bygone British culture in the city of Cawnpore. With the extravagance of the European grandeur, not many know how important the city was to the British Corporation of India. The design story initiates the change over time by re-writing an architectural essay through this space with its amalgamation of the old with the quirkiness of Art Nouveau glitz.

The love for extreme symmetry and restricted color palettes can often give the expression of a surreal, self-contained world, but adding that certain bizarre element came through the black and white zebra lines, bringing quirkiness in the pink monotone.
