Spread over a sprawling 40-acre site, the Bhawan is a G+7 storey main building that spans a vast built-up area of 143,450 sqm. The architectural form was inspired by the crest of the Indian Army, of two swords held together as a symbol of defence, with the four-headed Lion Capital depicting the four tenets of power, courage, pride, and confidence. Furthermore, as a homage to New Delhi’s North/South Block, the Thal Sena Bhawan has been planned with the East and West Wings to house the directorates as per their logistical requirements.
