The trend is moving towards stronger materials that can better withstand the test of time, natural disasters, and give back to the environment instead of taking away from it. As the supply of natural resources becomes scarcer, we will be forced to use renewable and recyclable materials such as bamboo, hemp, lignin (part of the cell wall of wood), salt cedar, and other cellulose-based materials that are sturdy and versatile enough to be used in a myriad of applications - from floors to structural reinforcements to clothing and textiles. In the future, materials will be more durable and environmentally friendly. They will also be more sustainable, meaning they can last longer and are not harmful to the environment.
