IIA UP Chapter organizes NATCON Lucknow

The National Convention of Indian Institute of Architects was held in Lucknow from 9 to 11 Feb 2024. It was attended by about 1000 architects from across chapters and was hosted by IIA UP Chapter with Ar Sandeep Sarswat as its chairman. Present were the national team of IIA, IIA President Ar Vilas Avachat, and president of the Council of Architecture Ar Abhay Vinayak Purohit who addressed the gathering.

The convention saw panel discussions and networking dinners. The Ram Mandir Ayodhya design presentation by Ar Ashish Sompura drew accolades. Ar Christopher Benninger was conferred the Baburao Mhatre Gold Medal and Prof Madhav Deobhakta was conferred the Madhav Achval Gold Medal.


The IIA Northern Chapter team was led by chairman Ar Ashish Gupta. A presentation was made by Ar Archna Khanna on ‘Distinctive and Delightful Cities’. Ar. (Dr) Harish Tripathi received a ‘Certificate of Merit for outstanding contribution to IIA northern chapter activities during 2023, along with Ar Amit Sharma, Ar Suditya Sinha, and Ar Mohit Manchanda. The event also saw an exhibition, which was open to the public.
