Berger Paints India is expected to begin commercial production at its manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. The Rs. 230cr project will enhance Berger's capacity by nearly 30%, manufacturing water-based decorative paint products to cater to southern and eastern markets, said Abijit Roy, the managing director and CEO of the company. The new facility will have an initial capacity of 7,000 tonnes per month with provision to scale up its capacity. The company has at present eight manufacturing facilities in the country, one each in Goa, Delhi, Puducherry, two plants in J&K and West Bengal, with a total production capacity of nearly 23,000 tonnes a month. Next year, the company could set up another plant in AP for British Paint division, he added.
