Germany and Bangalore based Dr. Wiesner Test and Automation, a 50 year veteran of the industrial automation industry, has marked its entry into the B2C lifestyle consumer with the launch of SmartWash, a range of automated bathroom closet seats. Commenting on this disruptive and ambitious entry into the Lifestyle segment, HK Nagbhushan, Head of Operations and Director, India, said, SmartWash has received very positive interest from interior designers and real estate developers. We estimate a demand of more than 50,000 units in the first year alone, and a yearly turnover to touch Rs. 350 crore in the next three years.”

The company started operations in India about 6 years ago through the value created in its R&D labs. SmartWash is the first of the many that the company aims to present to the market to showcase its prowess in design and innovation, and the range will be followed by products like air purifiers and nebulizers in the near future.

Dr. Wiesner has invested Rs 20.5 crore until 2016 to set up its SmartWash production facility with a capacity to produce 60,000 units per year at Dabaspet near Bangalore. It plans to invest a further Rs 8 crore in 2017-2018 and Rs 5 crore in 2018-2019 to raise capacity to 200,000 units per year.
