Bringing the construction industry closer home to the end-users are social platforms such as Helpmebuild that enable a homeowner to select designs and materials, visualise the end product, and choose the architect for the project

"The architecture & construction (79Bil$+) and home décor (20bil$+) market combined is a 100 bil$+ market and growing at 5-10% annually, and includes both online and offline opportunities," informs Prasoon Shrivastava, Founder & CEO, Helpmebuild.

"Helpmebuild is a technology centric and social commerce platform with a managed multi-vendor marketplace focusing on Interior design and Architecture related ideas, inspirations and integrated project solutions. It is a one-stop-solution, from the creating of knowledge, to the streamlined execution of a project and beyond," adds Shrivastava.

But is the Indian market ready for a social-commerce website platform for their home design and construction needs?

"Yes", says Shrivastava. "We do think the Indian market is ready for this kind of platform as there are limited resources available currently, making it a challenge for people seeking interior décor ideas and professionals in India. Online market share for home décor constitutes 4-5% of the total market size and we believe there are a lot of opportunities which are still untapped and can be utilized through online and offline activities in the architecture and interior design space. Apart from this, knowledge sharing and building a social ecosystem where design enthusiasts can share their views to get the right thing done is of utmost value."

"There are international online companies in the USA, UK and other global markets which have shown tremendous growth and cater to a large part of the community through this business practice. Also, the websites of these companies have the second largest volume of traffic from India (after their home country), which shows that there is a huge demand for interior and architectural ideas and services in India," he adds.

There are more than 2000 stories and 20,000 photo inspirations curated by Helpmebuild's in-house team of designers and content managers.

This multi-vendor marketplace showcases more than one lakh home décor and furniture products. With the integration of advanced tech, users can easily find solutions to any problem related to their day to day home décor problems. Video content forms a very crucial part of the website which are made in-house. Small and medium enterprises gain a lot through a large database pan India. Cross selling and upselling through analytics integration gives users the ease to choose from related products. For furniture and heavy products, which have higher delivery lead time, there is lesser cost for merchants to hold inventory and go for manufacturing process as and when the order comes.

Through cutting edge tech, searching products on the web by writing a few keywords on search makes it very easy for users to get what they want. With thousands of interior & décor ideas, users can buy related products 24X7 for a hassle free buying and on the go shopping. Users can save photos by making their own ideabooks, search products, or look for design-build services.
